The bathymetric and sedimentology analysis of the Colombia Pacific continental shelf have been used to know the relationship between the morphology and the of the superficial sediments distribution.
The sedimentary distribution is the result of the ocean currents which erodes the submarine grooves and then distributes these materials in the shelf, muting up with the river’s sediments.
The present tectonic is responsible of all the morphologic characteristics such as submarines canyons, grooves, old moths of river, change of river’s course, very steep shelf o absence of shelf.
