Two cruises were conducted during April-May and September-October of 1976, at the coastal waters of the Colombian Pacific Ocean. This paper present a relation of the physical and chemistry variations of the surface waters.
The variation of properties are considered to be seasonal since they are assumed to form part of the annual cycle. Salinity fronts were found off the shore owing to the runoff of the rivers. The temperature shows cold waters from the north and south during April-may, reflecting effects of upwelling in the Golf of Panama.
