Estudio preliminar del fitoplancton y la estructura de la comunidad coralina de la Isla Malpelo en el Pacífico colombiano durante el crucero Henry Von Prahl

A preliminary study is presented, on the marine phytoplancton and the coraline fauna of the Malpelo Island, in the Colombian Pacific, during the research cruise "Henry Von Prahl" held in october 1990.
The geological and oceanographical information of the island is correlated and the influence of the marine currents in the distribution of the fauna of the Islands.
It was stablished that the structure of the decapod comunity associated lo the coral Porites capitata (dominance of the Families and individual densities), in the Malpelo Islands and a discussion in presentad as a possible bioindicator of "El Niño" phenomena, on the ecosistems of the Islands.
