Abstract

One of the applications of the lytodynamic model LIZC (CIOH, version 2.2), mathematically described in another article of the present Bulletin, was the beach dynamics study in front of the Air Force' Recreational Centre at Coveñas (Golfo de Morrosquillo). Systematically, during various years, the beaches of this zone have been suffering erosion. Actually, the coastal abrasion is pronounced, and threats the coastal constructions. For this reason, looking for protection, and based on the available-model, bicho and lytodynamical simulations have been performed, giving an understanding of direct and indirect causes of coastal abrasion and helping to propose an efficient solution alternative.
