This paper, corresponds to the study of the chemical parameters of the 1st. phase, from the oceanographic cruise, “OCEANO IV”, held during 1975 on board the Colombia Navy Oceanographic Vessel ARC “San Andrés”, and which studied also the physical chemical conditions of the coastal zone (2nd phase).
The results show a high dissolved oxygen content in most parts of the area, as a consequence of turbulence and mixture of the waters during this time of the years (October). Normal nutrient concentration were found except nearby the islands were high concentrations were found.
