We present some trials in sea - height anomaly assimilation in the hydrodynamic forecast model for the Caribbean Sea in operation at CIOH, namely the Oceanic Prediction System of DIMAR (SPOD), using TOPEX/POSEIDON altimetry. Altimeter data and filters applied to these data are described, together with the results of numerical simulations performed with the aid of the “static approach”. This last approach is applied in the nudging procedure at the climate patterns of the domain as well as the liquid boundaries, solving the problem of boundary conditions in the model.Downloads
