The thermal structure of the Ocean in its stratified upper mixed layer causes an impact on a wide important spectrum of activities such as weather forecast, climate and naval operations.
This document is the result of a research project undertaken at the Centro de Investigaciones Oceanográficas e Hidrográficas CIOH (Oceanographic and Hidrographic Research Center) the purpose of this work, is to use a numerical model, to study the behavior of the upper mixed layer of the ocean around an specific area of the Colombian pacific.
The data used in the study was collected during three Oceanographic cruises (PACIFICO-ERFEN). The processing of the information is based on the formulae described by UNESCO. (1984).
The simulation Model was developed for a microcomputer PC-IBM-Compatible.
