The effect of the sea-level rise that is occurring due to climate change was studied on the Cays of Serranilla, Serrana, Roncador, Este-Sudeste and Albuquerque. Two oceanographic campaigns were developed in 2009 and 2010 to characterize the geo-morphodynamics of each one of them. The climatic tendency was extracted based on the sixty-years hourly NCAR reanalysis. The backward movement of every coastline of the Cays was calculated due to the augmentation of the flooding level; increase of Hs12 and due to changes in the direction of the mean energy flux direction for the years 2025, 2055 and 2085. The calculation established the there will be a backward movement of the beaches of the Cays of about one to two meters for 2025, of 3-7 meters for 2055 and up to 15 meters for 2085.Downloads
