This paper is based on previous result obtained from the numerical modeling project of oil spills. The created models forecast the oil slick position and its characteristics, but sometimes it is necessary to know where the spill occurred and the spill amount. A new concept of the inverse problem has been utilized in this paper. This concept consists of two parts: a) Spill position search through the modified method of trials and errors and b) Spill volume determination solving the conjugate equations of the slick transport.Downloads
